There are many spas that are owned by “out of scope” practitioners, including family physicians, wound care physicians, emergency care physicians and even radiologists! Many of whom are either employed by the owner of the spa to assume the role of “medical director” for licensure purposes, but are not based there and in actuality do not have the power to hire or fire personnel. That is why it is of utmost importance to be an informed consumer.
Furthermore, who better than a plastic surgeon to personally recommend a spa treatment or procedure? We do not offer spa treatments that in the opinion of the medical director offer no real benefit to the patient.
