Xeomin® in Houston, TX

Have you ever heard of glabellar lines? You’re probably more familiar with their common name, frown lines – the ones between your eyebrows that give your face a constant, angry look. Dr. Christopher Hankins can help you have a happy face by removing those lines. Just ask his happy patients all over Houston, Pearland, Lake Jackson and the surrounding areas of South Houston.

What is Xeomin®?

Xeomin® is an injectable neurotoxin, approved by the FDA to treat facial lines and wrinkles caused by muscle issues. It’s also approved for use with other muscle-related problems, such as dystonia. Dystonia occurs when random nerve signals tell the muscles in the neck to contract, causing neck muscle spasms.

Xeomin® has also proved useful in controlling eyelid spasms, called blepharospasm. Patients suffering with this issue may blink uncontrollably or have eyes that point in opposite directions.

Benefits of Xeomin®

There are a number of benefits of Xeomin® and most patients are very pleased with their results.

  • Very little, if any, downtime
  • Non-invasive, non-surgical treatment
  • Results can last up to six months
  • Typically less expensive than alternative injectables
  • Development of tolerance is less likely in theory

Xeomin® vs. BOTOX® Cosmetic

BOTOX® Cosmetic and Xeomin® are similar products as they are both neuromodulators, meaning they temporarily relax the facial muscles that are the underlying cause of the wrinkles. BOTOX® Cosmetic is a household name and the most common of all dermal fillers and injectables. BOTOX® Cosmetic contains additional ingredients that help the results to take place nearly immediately. On the contrary, that Xeomin® contains just one ingredient: botulinum toxin A.

It can be overwhelming to read about the different types of injectables and determine what product is best for your unique cosmetic goals. The differences between Xeomin® and BOTOX® Cosmetic are evident to medical professionals, which is why you should take care to choose your injector based on experience and expertise. When you come in for an appointment with Dr. Hankins, we will discuss what product is best for your unique goals.
